Goodbye

Goodbye

Slowly our bodies move away
The touch, the smell, the lingering gaze
Home is when we are altogether
Sisters under one roof
Heart brought out of division
We are facets of our mother
Yet women in our own rights
Shining in our own glory
Sisters of heart and blood
A blessing given
Gratefully received

Slowly our bodies move away
Away where your life is
Away where mine remains
Divided, so it seems,
Together, always, so it feels.
